Paramount Hotel Dubai is thrilled to announce the much-anticipated return of the "We Create Drama" Film Festival, inviting filmmakers of all calibers to showcase their storytelling talents on the grand stage of cinematic excellence. The festival offers a unique platform for filmmakers to bring their visions to life and connect with industry professionals. This year's festival promises to be an unforgettable celebration of cinematic brilliance, set against the backdrop of Paramount Hotel Dubai's iconic movie-inspired locations. During the festival, the hotel will be offering free masterclasses for scriptwriting and independent filmmaking for aspiring filmmakers.
As an extension of the iconic Paramount Pictures brand renowned for over a century of exceptional entertainment, Paramount Hotel Dubai remains steadfast in its brand promise by bringing the creative community together through continuously igniting a passion for storytelling and fostering a vibrant hub of artistic collaboration and innovation.
Submission Guidelines: Filmmakers are invited to submit compelling 3 to 10-minute scripts that capture the essence of drama, innovation, and cinematic artistry. The submission window opens on March 1st and closes on March 20th, providing participants with a golden opportunity to showcase their creativity.
Each script must adhere to professional industry standards and include a logline and synopsis to be considered for selection. Additionally, all filming must take place within the walls of Paramount Hotel Dubai within a 24-hour window, followed by one week of post-production before the submission deadline.
Selection and Production: A distinguished panel of industry experts, including representatives from Paramount Hotel Dubai, Westford University College, SAE Institute professor, and two members of the Golden Globes, will carefully review submissions and select the most compelling scripts in March. Once the scripts have been shortlisted, production will commence in April, with Paramount Hotel Dubai's iconic locations serving as the backdrop for each short film. In addition, Nikon will provide the participating teams with professional cameras to film their productions, ensuring the highest quality cinematography for each entry.
Finale: The festival will culminate with a grand preview at Paramount Hotel Dubai's Screening Room in late May. Outstanding contributions will be honored with prestigious awards, including the coveted "Film of the Year," along with accolades such as Director of the Year, Actor of the Year, Actress of the Year, DOP of the Year, and Writer of the Year. Winners will receive exciting prizes, including top-of-the-line Nikon gear for enhancing their filmmaking skills, as well as exclusive hotel experiences such as fine dining in the hotel's F&B outlets or a luxurious staycation at Paramount Hotel Dubai.
