Emirates, one of the world's most prestigious airlines, and Étoile Sportive du Sahel, one of Tunisia's most award-winning football and basketball clubs, have signed a new sponsorship agreement that will make Emirates the official airline sponsor of the club starting from the 2023-24 season.

This agreement underscores Emirates' ongoing commitment to developing football and connecting with a new community of supporters in North Africa. In addition to football, Emirates will also support the club's major indoor sports teams, including basketball, volleyball, and handball. The Emirates brand will be prominently displayed on the jerseys of the Étoile Sportive du Sahel's first team, training jerseys, as well as all indoor sports equipment starting from the beginning of the 2023-2024 season.

Emirates will also enjoy a wide range of privileges, including advertising and branding rights in the club's stadium and indoor sports facilities, activation rights on digital and social media platforms, hospitality, access to athletes for meet and greet sessions, as well as significant visibility in the Olympic Stadium of Sousse, training ground, and indoor sports arenas.

Commenting on this partnership, Mr. Badr Abbas, Emirates' Senior Vice President of Commercial Operations for Africa, said,

We are delighted to partner with Étoile Sportive du Sahel, a powerhouse in African football and a formidable international basketball team. Having our brand message displayed on the jerseys across their different sporting disciplines will help create more meaningful connections with sports fans in Tunis and throughout Africa. Our partnership with Étoile du Sahel also demonstrates our longstanding support and commitment to football. We also aim to connect with indoor sports enthusiasts, particularly basketball, volleyball, and handball, which are rapidly gaining popularity in Tunisia. Étoile du Sahel has a strong local and regional appeal, and as a brand, we are proud to bring together enthusiastic fans and teams, expand the club's reach, while nurturing young talents.

Mr. Othman JENAYAH, President of Étoile Sportive du Sahel, stated,

As the President of ESS, I am delighted to announce this significant partnership with Emirates. This collaboration reflects our shared passion for the beautiful game and our mutual commitment to fostering the growth of football in Tunisia and beyond. We are proud that the world's largest airline, Emirates, is the official sponsor of Étoile Sportive du Sahel. This partnership marks an important milestone in our club's history as we proudly display the renowned Emirates brand on our jerseys. We are thrilled to join forces with a global company that shares our commitment to excellence, both on and off the field. The support and recognition from Emirates towards Étoile Sportive du Sahel are a testament to our club's remarkable legacy, and this partnership not only strengthens our position as a leading figure in African football but also amplifies our visibility on an international scale."

Étoile du Sahel is one of Tunisia's most illustrious and multisport clubs, primarily known for its football, basketball, handball, and volleyball teams. The club has distinguished itself through its global performances and has won numerous national, African, and Arab championships, cups, and super cups.

Having won more CAF trophies than any other Tunisian team, the club has been crowned the ultimate title of the CAF Champions League, has won 2 CAF Super Cup titles, 4 CAF Confederation Cup titles, and 2 African Cup Winners' Cup titles. It is considered one of Africa's most valuable football clubs and one of the most supported teams on the continent.

Emirates' sponsorship portfolio includes prominent sports clubs, tournaments, and cultural events worldwide, and the company is committed to supporting initiatives in the areas of sports, entertainment, music, culture, and the arts.
