Kering and the Festival de Cannes had the honor of hosting a remarkable gathering to pay tribute to Michelle Yeoh. The distinguished attendees at the official 2023 Women In Motion dinner included Isabelle Huppert, Leonardo Di Caprio, Salma Hayek Pinault, Zar Amir Ebrahimi, Jeanne Herry, Alfonso Cuaron, Kaouther Ben Hania, and Hirokazu Kore-eda.
At this prestigious event, François-Henri Pinault, Chairman and CEO of Kering, Iris Knobloch, President of the Festival de Cannes, and Thierry Frémaux, General Delegate of the Festival de Cannes, had the privilege of presenting the 2023 Women In Motion Award to the accomplished actress and producer, Michelle Yeoh. In her presence, along with the Festival jury and Un certain regard jury, Michelle Yeoh delivered an inspiring speech. She emphasized the challenges faced by women, stating, "For too long, we as women have been excluded from rooms and conversations. We have been told that the door is closed to us...( ) Our ideas are boundless. Our passion knows no limits. And now, we have arrived to break down that door."
Additionally, the Emerging Talent Award was bestowed upon Carmen Jaquier, a talented Swiss director.
Among the esteemed guests who graced the occasion were Rossy De Palma, Lily Gladstone, Bianca Li, Naomi Campbell, Zhou Dongyu, Philippine Leroy-Beaulieu, Anaïs Demoustier, and Jeremy O. Harris.
