Turkish Airlines, the global carrier that flies to more countries than any other airline, has resumed its flights between Istanbul and Sulaymaniyah, a route that had been suspended since April 2023. With this relaunch, the airline further strengthens its already extensive network in Iraq, which includes Baghdad, Basra, Erbil, Kirkuk, and Najaf—bringing the total to six destinations across the country.

Starting 2 November 2025, Turkish Airlines will operate four weekly flights between Istanbul Airport and Sulaymaniyah International Airport, with services on Mondays, Thursdays, Fridays, and Sundays. The frequency is set to increase to daily flights with the 2026 Summer Schedule, beginning 27 March 2026.

Commenting on the relaunch, Prof. Ahmet Bolat, Chairman of the Board and Executive Committee of Turkish Airlines, said:

We are delighted to resume our flights to Sulaymaniyah, reconnecting this destination—renowned for its rich cultural and natural heritage—to the world with the comfort and hospitality that define Turkish Airlines. This route will not only strengthen our presence in the region but also enhance trade and cultural ties between Türkiye and Iraq.”

Travellers can now fly between Istanbul and Sulaymaniyah from USD 325, gaining access to Turkish Airlines’ unparalleled global network, which spans 355 destinations across 131 countries. Fares are based on the airline’s official website and may vary at sales offices and travel agencies.
