As global travelers increasingly seek exclusivity paired with deep cultural immersion, Tunisia has made a striking entrance by hosting a VIP group as part of Abercrombie & Kent’s “Africa: Across a Continent by Private Jet” tour. Running from February 4 to 26, 2025, this journey positioned Tunisia as its first African stop, unveiling the country’s untapped potential as a destination where luxury meets authenticity.

A Fusion of History, Culture, and Hospitality

Over four days, 48 high-net-worth travelers—primarily from the U.S.—explored Tunisia’s treasures through an exclusive lens: the UNESCO-listed ruins of Carthage, the ancient Roman city of Dougga, and Tunis’ Medina, a living labyrinth of artisan workshops and timeless traditions. The itinerary, crafted with exceptional support from Tunisia’s government, renowned luxury travel specialist Atlantis Voyages, and the tourism board, spotlighted the nation’s high-end infrastructure, blending VIP comfort with cultural immersion.

Thanks to smooth arrival and departure procedures, a warm welcome, and the richness of Tunis, our guests experienced a seamless journey. They felt completely secure and were utterly charmed by their stay,”

emphasized Rami Girgis, Director of Abercrombie & Kent.

Testimonials: Where Luxury Meets Authenticity (Video Feature)

For San Diego couple Rosario and Georgina, Tunisia was the trip’s defining highlight.

We loved immersing ourselves with the locals. One evening, we were the only ones in our group to venture into a neighborhood restaurant… and we were overwhelmed by the generosity of Tunisians,”

Georgina shared in a video testimonial. Their story captures the essence of the journey: heartfelt encounters, “wholesome and flavorful cuisine,” and “breathtaking heritage.”

The Tunisian people have a rare kindness. We’ll definitely return,” added Rosario, praising the private jet’s flawless service, including seats personalized for the 23-day expedition.

Beyond Beaches: Redefining Luxury

While Tunisia is often linked to Mediterranean resorts, this tour revealed its broader appeal to discerning travelers. Tunisian authorities have taken note: amid growing demand for bespoke travel, the country is leveraging its cultural heritage and renowned hospitality to carve a niche in high-end tourism.

We want to show that Tunisia can offer much more than sun and sea,

stated Ezzeddine Hammedi, a representative from the Ministry of Tourism.

The Road Ahead: A New Era for Tunisian Tourism

With glowing media coverage and testimonials like Rosario and Georgina’s, Tunisia is well-positioned to attract similar elite groups. Industry leaders now aim to structure offerings around unique experiences: archaeologist-guided historical treks, culinary workshops with local chefs, and starlit nights in the desert.

I’m deeply grateful for everything done to make our guests’ visit so memorable. This was a one-of-a-kind experience, and I look forward to returning to Tunis with future groups,”

concluded Rami Girgis.

As Tunisia prepares to welcome similar tours in 2026, one thing is clear: its legendary hospitality, combined with a rich and unexpected heritage, could modestly inspire a new approach to luxury tourism—not by imposing rules, but by offering an alternative where authenticity and humanity reclaim their rightful place.
