Umm Al Emarat Park, in collaboration with Abu Dhabi Music & Arts Foundation, is proud to host the Datecrete Bee Hotel, the winning artwork of the 2024 Christo and Jeanne-Claude Award. Crafted from Datecrete—a sustainable material made from date pits and free of traditional concrete—this innovative sculpture is designed to attract solitary bees, fostering a unique ecological interaction.
Created by Sara Farha and Khaled Shalkha, the installation invites visitors to explore the intersection of art, nature, and sustainability. It will be on display at the park from December 12 to December 28, offering an opportunity to witness this fascinating project, which celebrates creativity, environmental responsibility, sustainability and material innovation.
Located at the heart of the capital, Umm Al Emarat park is a prime destination to reconnect with nature, blending cultural heritage with sustainability. Designed to honor Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan's vision, it promotes an active lifestyle, supports a healthy society, and celebrates local culture and traditions.
