Radisson RED Dubai Silicon Oasis is pleased to announce the appointment of Anil Kumar as its new Chief Engineer, marking an exciting new chapter in the hotel’s pursuit of operational excellence, innovation, and next-generation sustainability.
With over 18 years of diverse engineering experience in hospitality across the UAE and Oman, Kumar brings a wealth of technical expertise and leadership to one of Dubai’s most dynamic lifestyle hotels.
Prior to joining Radisson RED Dubai Silicon Oasis, he served as Assistant Chief Engineer at Radisson Blu Residence, Dubai Marina, where he successfully led multiple renovation and energy optimization projects, earning the property an Executive Safe Hotel Audit Certification. His earlier experience includes engineering leadership roles at InterContinental Dubai, Radisson Blu Dubai Deira Creek, and Bahwan Engineering Company in Muscat, where he was instrumental in commissioning and maintaining large-scale HVAC and energy systems.
Kumar began his career as an industrial electrician in India, developing a strong foundation in electrical systems and plant operations before transitioning into hospitality - a move he describes as “discovering a passion for keeping hotels alive behind the scenes.” Over nearly two decades in hospitality engineering, he has established himself as a solutions-driven professional known for troubleshooting complex systems, optimizing performance, and mentoring teams to achieve technical precision without compromising creativity.
In his new role at Radisson RED Dubai Silicon Oasis, Kumar will oversee all aspects of property maintenance, engineering operations, and sustainability initiatives - key pillars of the Radisson Hotel Group’s long-term responsible business strategy. His focus will center on energy efficiency, water conservation, and preventive maintenance, with plans already underway to enhance the property’s Building Management System (BMS) and integrate smart technologies to streamline operations and reduce environmental impact.
With Anil stepping into this pivotal role, the leadership team sees an opportunity to push the boundaries of what engineering excellence means in lifestyle hospitality.

Anil brings the kind of technical discipline and innovative mindset that modern hospitality demands,” said Nina Petridis, General Manager of Radisson RED Dubai Silicon Oasis. “His approach to engineering is data-led, creative, and relentlessly future-focused, exactly what we need as we redefine how design, technology, and sustainability intersect behind the scenes.”
Echoing her sentiment, Kumar shared his enthusiasm for joining the RED leadership team and shaping its next phase of innovation.
The opportunity to lead the Engineering team at RED is incredibly exciting,” he said. “The brand’s bold, playful spirit encourages innovation at every level. My goal is to foster a culture of creativity and accountability, where every team member feels empowered to experiment, learn, and contribute to making the hotel more sustainable, efficient, and fun.”
His leadership philosophy centers on collaboration, mentorship, and open communication.
I believe in mentoring through example, he Adds.
A strong team culture is built when everyone feels heard, valued, and trusted to take ownership of their work. Every team member should feel like a vital part of a finely tuned engine - unique in function, but united in purpose.”
Looking ahead, Kumar envisions making Radisson RED Dubai Silicon Oasis a benchmark for smart, sustainable hotel operations in the region.
Our work may be behind the scenes, but its impact is front and center,” he notes. “My goal is to ensure every system runs flawlessly so that every guest feels comfort, reliability, and care in every detail of their stay,” he concludes
